Rolf Method of structural integration
The Dr. Ida Rolf Method of Structural Integration is a hands-on modality, similar to massage, but vastly different, that lengthens the fascia within the body. Fascia is a strong web-like fabric, that when restricted, causes lack of movement, dis-ease, and eventually pain.
Dr. Ida Rolf, founder of Structural Integration, or "Rolfing", created the modality to bring space and verticality back to the body, allowing the person to live and move with less effort, reduced pain, and greater grace. Stacking the body correctly upon itself offers length, openness, and space often missing in bodies contracted by gravity, injury, and poor posture.
Dr. Rolf created the 10-series, a logical progression of sessions that opens, balances and restores the body, allowing the outer armor to dissolve, and the true spirit within to shine. It is not necessary to undergo the 10-series to experience the benefits of Structural Integration, or Rolfing. However, every body can and will benefit. You can schedule 10 sessions back-to-back to complete the 10-series quickly, or you can spread them out over a much longer period of time as your capacity permits. Either way, you will receive full benefits of the work.
